Indiana Workforce Recovery delivered face-to-face education to several thousand business professionals in 2019. It became very apparent during these conversations that employers want to do right by their employees dealing with substance misuse and addiction problems, but they are in need of a model that guides them on treatment and recovery plans.

In looking for partners to help deliver a solution, the Wellness Council of Indiana and Indiana Workforce Recovery immediately focused on Belden’s award-winning Pathways to Employment program in Richmond. This best practice process – recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor – has allowed employees there to gain and/or retain employment, while realizing powerful results for the participating individuals. In the last two years, 34 people kept their jobs or were hired at Belden as a direct result of this effort.

Centerstone, a nationally recognized behavioral health provider, helped build and produce this blueprint to Belden through their Workforce Investment Program. We are proud to now officially launch an exclusive partnership with Centerstone to deliver this model to ANY Indiana business. That means any company looking to hire or retain qualified talent that is testing positive on drug or alcohol screens now has a place to turn to – one with evidence-based solutions at a reasonable price that are also in compliance with extensive federal and state regulations.

You can learn all the details at our “second chance” web site, which includes a checklist to gauge employer readiness to proceed.

Through a mixture of compliance and compassion, we believe this program will deliver strong results for any company who participates.

The program was started in February 2018 to encourage employer involvement in combating the state’s drug and opioid crisis.
