(INDIANAPOLIS) — Indiana INTERNnet is seeking nominations for its 13th IMPACT Awards program, a celebration of internship excellence.

The nominations are submitted by the public and winners are chosen by a group of impartial judges.

Indiana INTERNnet is managed by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and the program serves as the catalyst for the creation and expansion of experiential learning opportunities, with the goal of retaining the state’s top talent. The IMPACT Awards were launched to celebrate those who have aided in Indiana INTERNnet’s mission by providing high-quality internship programs.

A new award category, Intern Supervisor of the Year, will be given in addition to Intern of the Year, Career Development Professional of the Year and Employer of the Year honors. The Intern Supervisor of the Year award will honor internship supervisors who work directly with interns and will be given to the nominee who has gone above and beyond the standard expectations of a supervisor.

“We’re excited to see how the IMPACT Awards program has grown over the past 13 years,” says David McKinnis, president of Indiana INTERNnet’s Board of Directors. “It’s important to recognize the wonderful opportunities made possible over the last year for Hoosier students and employers.”

Previous IMPACT Awards have honored three categories: Intern of the Year (high school, college and non-traditional), Outstanding Career Development Professional of the Year and Employer of the Year (nonprofit and for-profit).

The nomination form is available online and there is no limit to the number of nominations an individual may submit. The deadline to submit a nomination is Oct. 31, 2018.

Winners will be announced at the IMPACT Awards luncheon on Feb. 26, 2019 at the Ritz Charles Ballrooms. Sponsorships for the luncheon are available; contact Mark Lawrance at (317) 264-7547 or mlawrance@indianachamber.com for details.
