Katz, Sapper & Miller (KSM), a leading accounting and consulting firm, has named Fady Qaddoura, former controller and CFO for the City of Indianapolis, as its first chief innovation officer, effective Jan. 13.
“Fady’s extensive background in data analytics, consulting, and systems enhancement and unparalleled reputation in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors will enhance our ongoing efforts to provide value-added, consultative solutions to our clients,” said David Resnick, managing partner of KSM. “With Fady’s involvement and leadership, we look forward to accelerating our firm’s efforts to expand our services and use technology and data to create meaningful client outcomes.”
Qaddoura joins KSM after a decade in public service, first for the Indiana General Assembly, then the Indiana Department of Workforce Development and Indiana Family and Social Services Administration, before being appointed the controller and CFO for the City of Indianapolis by Mayor Joe Hogsett in 2016. During his tenure with the city, he was credited with playing a significant role in executing many of the Hogsett administration’s major projects and technology initiatives.
“KSM’s mission to cultivate great leaders who are dedicated to transforming organizations and industries fully aligns with my professional career goal of working for a mission-driven firm that deeply cares about providing the best solutions for its clients and staying true to its purpose,” Qaddoura said.
Earlier in his career, Qaddoura worked in research and IT roles at the University of Texas and University of New Orleans and oversaw fundraising campaigns for social services and educational nonprofits.
He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in computer science, a master’s degree in public administration, and a Ph.D. in philanthropy and public policy. Qaddoura also teaches courses on philanthropy, civic engagement, executive leadership, and finance as an adjunct faculty member at Indiana University – Indianapolis. In 2018, he was named CFO of the Year by the Indianapolis Business Journal (IBJ). Qaddoura also earned a spot in the IBJ 40 Under 40 Class of 2019 and is a recipient of the Accelerate Indiana Municipalities Award for Excellence in Fiscal Management.
