(INDIANAPOLIS) — Indiana INTERNnet is seeking nominations for its 14th Annual IMPACT Awards, a celebration of internship excellence throughout the state. Indiana INTERNnet is also celebrating its own big milestone. For the first time in a calendar year, the program has connected 1,000 interns (and counting) with successful internships via the IndianaINTERN.net site.

“With over 1,000 internships filled through our platform this year, we know that there are many great interns, employers and educators who should be honored for their achievements,” says Mike Slocum, executive director of Indiana INTERNnet. “We look forward to shining the spotlight on them in February, but we only can do that if they are nominated.”

The public is invited to submit IMPACT Award nominations. Winners will be chosen in the fall by a group of impartial judges. The nomination form is available online and there is no limit to the number of nominations an individual may submit. The deadline is November 8, 2019.

Indiana INTERNnet is managed by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and the program serves as the catalyst for the creation and expansion of experiential learning opportunities, with the goal of retaining the state’s top talent. The IMPACT Awards were launched to celebrate those who have aided in Indiana INTERNnet’s mission by providing high-quality internship programs.

IMPACT Award honors will be given to Intern of the Year (high school and college), Career Development Professional of the Year, Intern Supervisor of the Year and Employer of the Year. New this year: The award category of Career Development Professional of the Year has been split into two subcategories – high school and college. This change will recognize the unique differences in the work that is done at varying levels of education.

Winners will be announced at the IMPACT Awards luncheon on February 18, 2020 at the Ritz Charles in Carmel. Sponsorships for the luncheon are available; contact Mike Slocum at (317) 264-6862 or [email protected] for details.
