Leadership is more important than ever during these challenging times. I imagine that is not the first time you have read a similar sentiment in recent weeks and months.
IN Chamber: The Podcast regularly features leaders from a variety of industries and perspectives. While they have much to offer, we strive to allow you to learn from at least some of their insights during our 30-minute conversations.
Yes, we touch on COVID-19 and its impacts in each episode – some more than others. But the lessons and takeaways expand beyond the reality of today. In recent months, we’ve featured:
- Current episode: Bruce Mehlman, a Washington attorney who brings a common sense view to national and global trends in business and politics. Despite the challenges, he likes America’s track record in making big comebacks.
- Upcoming episode, June 23 release: Elaine Bedel, leader of the new Indiana Destination Development Corporation. The mission is critical – helping attract visitors, workers, students and businesses by successfully telling the Indiana story. While the pandemic interrupted the planning process and inserted more uncertainty, the work goes on.
The four prior conversations:
- Nick Smarrelli of tech support firm GadellNet: Say “yes” to opportunities and offer “no excuses.” Learn how these values have paid off.
- Ali Cudby, Your Iconic Brand: When the economy is good, it’s easy to focus on customer acquisition. Today, it’s making sure “we keep those we’ve worked so hard to earn.”
- Rob Martens, Allegion: He’s a futurist, chief innovation and design officer, president (Allegion Ventures) and founding principal (Pin & Tumbler Studio). The roles complement each other.
- Max Brickman, Heartland Ventures: Some coastal tech firms are experiencing the “fear of missing out” when it comes to Midwest businesses. Brickman and Heartland are helping make the connections.
Coming in July: We look forward to hearing from Elliott Parker, leader of High Alpha Innovation and its work in helping established companies develop the innovation within their operations; and Andrea Butcher, talking about the return to the workplace and leadership opportunities in these unprecedented times.
