(INDIANAPOLIS) — Outstanding supervisors can have a positive influence on their team benefiting their entire organization. The Indiana Chamber of Commerce is helping businesses better prepare their managers by offering the third edition of The Supervisor’s Handbook and the new Advanced Benefit Administration Guide.
The Supervisor’s Handbook, from the legal team at Faegre Baker Daniels LLP, is designed to help supervisors understand their rights and responsibilities as leaders in an organization. It includes guidelines on interviewing and getting new recruits up to speed, documenting employee information and supervisory actions, completing disciplinary actions, discharging team members and preparing performance evaluations.
The publication is ideal to incorporate into a company’s onboarding for new supervisors, says Indiana Chamber of Commerce President Kevin Brinegar.
“It’s an easy-to-use reference guide that will help make the process of being a new manager go more smoothly and set them up for supervisory success. And it will be useful throughout their tenure. The Supervisor’s Handbook is something we use internally to help our team leaders manage effectively and stay current on issues impacting the workforce.”
Among the trending topics in the book are how to handle violence and sexual orientation/gender identity issues in the workplace.
The Supervisor’s Handbook costs $74.25 per copy for Indiana Chamber members; $99 is the list price. There is a 30% discount for orders of 10 or more copies.
