Education / Workforce

The Indiana Chamber’s education and workforce initiatives promote outstanding talent and a skilled workforce. The goals include increasing the educational attainment of Hoosiers and raising Indiana’s per-capita income. Our Foundation is responsible for key efforts to support those objectives:

School Corporation Size and Student Performance Research

NEW! School corporation size has a direct impact on student achievement. Research commissioned by the Foundation and conducted by the Ball State University Center for Business and Economic Research reveals that more than half of Indiana school corporations are too small to produce the most effective outcomes in student achievement. School Counseling Research

A series of five school counseling studies, beginning with Indiana School Counseling Research Review, took place in 2014 and 2015. These studies led to a five-year Comprehensive School Counseling Initiative funded by the Lilly Endowment to improve and expand academic, college, career, and social and emotional counseling in Indiana K-12 public and charter schools. A College and Career Readiness Guide is available as a resource for school counselors.
