The Indiana Chamber is offering new employee training tracks on leadership and soft skills in 2019. The ADVANCE Leadership Series goes in-depth in areas such as emotional intelligence, productive conflict, supervising and managing and more.

The BOOST series, which is still under development, will focus on workplace soft skills, created specifically to meet the feedback of Chamber members and customers, says Kerri Begley, vice president of business education and events.

Team (above) and small group (below) exercises were part of the accountability course earlier this month.

The ADVANCE Leadership Series, which kicked off in March with a session on accountability, will continue May 1-2 and June 11. Additionally, the Chamber’s popular Supervising and Managing People Workshop is included in the series.

Attendees in May will learn how to lead with interpersonal awareness and a collaborative approach, as well as how to work through conflict as a critical piece to success. This can be accomplished with the help of practical tools that build trust and commitment.

The June session uses the framework of vision, alignment and execution. It encourages leaders to understand their own tendencies and how those traits influence their effectiveness in specific leadership situations.

This program includes pre-assessment work and building a DiSC® profile of leadership.

Supervising and Managing People is offered May 8-9, September 11-12 and again December 3-4. Be sure to register early as it is among the Chamber’s most popular offerings and those sessions often sell out.

“We are looking forward to meeting the needs of our customers with these new programs,” Begley offers. “And when our BOOST program is finalized, we’ll be able to help Hoosier employees with the soft skills education they need to lift their careers.”
