When staff members at your Indiana Chamber departed the workplace on March 13, 2020, it was expected by many to be a two-week work-from-home scenario. In a story that played out similarly at other organizations, little did we know that it would be 480 days (July 6, 2021) before the team would return en masse.
The work, of course, continued as has been documented over the past 15-plus months. From a special webinar series and adapted business education and training events to a tremendous legislative return on investment and new Foundation initiatives, service to Chamber members and the broader statewide community never lagged.
In another positive sign of the return to a more normal experience, the Chamber office will re-open to staff and guests on July 6. Many team members will be utilizing enhancements to the already existing flexible schedule arrangements to divide their workweek between the office and home. No matter the location on any particular day, we will continue working for you.
Following Indiana and Marion County guidelines, there will be no mask requirements for fully vaccinated individuals. Those not vaccinated are encouraged, but not required, to wear masks. Those wishing to wear masks, regardless of vaccination status, are welcome to do so.
A green-yellow-red bracelet system will initially be in place. Staff members will choose from the following to indicate their comfort level:
- Green: I am okay with fist bumps and elbow taps
- Yellow: I am okay with talking, but please stay six feet away and no touching
- Red: I am keeping my distance. Thank you for respecting that
In addition to staff returning on a full-time or partial basis, the office will be open to guests and meeting rooms will be available for use. Safety and cleaning protocols will be in place for in-person attendees, who may (but are not required) to wear masks.
