Do you know someone who has experienced anxiety, depression, substance use disorder or another mental health issue? Join the Wellness Council of Indiana (WCI) for Mental Health First Aid Training (MHFA) virtually on November 12 to learn how to offer initial help in a mental health crisis.
Participants are trained to identify risk factors and warning signs of mental illnesses and how to connect persons to the appropriate care. Certification requires a two-hour, self-paced online module that must be completed before attending a live Zoom session.
Studies have shown those who are trained in MHFA have:
- greater confidence in providing assistance to others
- increased likelihood of advising people to seek professional help
- improved agreement with health professionals about treatments
- decreased stigmatizing attitudes
The cost for WCI member organizations is $200 and $295 for non-members. Space is limited so register now.
WCI members can gain access to a discount code by contacting Olivia at Olivia@wellnessindiana.org
