St. Joseph Hospital announced today that Jake Golich will become its new chief executive officer July 8.
Golich comes to St. Joe from Mountain Vista Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona, where he has served the 178-bed hospital as its CEO for more than two years. Including time as the administrator at Tempe St. Luke’s Hospital, and earlier stints as associate administrator and COO at Mountain Vista, he has lived and worked in Arizona since 2010. He began his healthcare career as a regional hospitalist services administrator at St. Vincent’s in Indianapolis.
“Jake is eager to meet the high expectations we have laid out for this position, and his enthusiasm to be part of the revitalization taking place in downtown Fort Wayne was clear to me and others during the interview process, said Mark Medley, regional president and chief executive officer, Lutheran Health Network. “Qualities that make him a great fit for our vision for St. Joe and Lutheran Downtown include leadership experience in a highly competitive market and a proven ability to build and maintain close working relationships with physicians, employees and patients.”
During his time at the helm of Mountain Vista, Golich has worked valley-wide to recruit and align with more than 200 primary care and specialist physicians while fostering greater collaboration with area universities to train and retain graduating nurses, residents and fellows as they begin their healthcare journeys.

Golich is a native of the Chicagoland area and roots for the Bears, Blackhawks, Bulls and White Sox. He received a bachelor’s in business administration from Illinois State University in Normal and a master’s in healthcare administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Golich’s community involvement in Arizona included board membership on the Mesa Chamber of Commerce, service as a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Tempe South Rotary membership and Tempe Community Council board membership.
