There will be much to keep track of over the next two months in the Indiana General Assembly and the Indiana Chamber is here to make sure you know what’s happening on issues most critical to your organization and employees.
An integral piece of our ongoing public policy communications is the weekly Legislative Report, which highlights Statehouse activity through written and video accounts. These Friday afternoon emails started last week. If you are not currently receiving them, please email mottinger@indianachamber.com.
Social media also plays an important role. Our X account (formerly Twitter) – @indianachamber – will post excerpts from Chamber testimony on priority bills and other quotes about what’s happening in the Legislature.
Our first Zoom Policy Call took place January 12 (replay) and the next one is this Friday, January 19, covering the crucial opening weeks of the General Assembly. Two more calls on February 2 and 8 will provide critical updates on legislation that could impact your business, with a recap occurring post session on March 8 or 15. Make sure to register for these members-only events. Chamber issue experts will lead the discussions and be available to answer your questions.
Our annual Legislative Directory booklet and app also contain important legislator contact information, committee assignments and more. The printed Legislative Directory is in stock, with the app having real-time updates throughout the session.
Later this month, you can look for the first of two Legislative Agenda documents, which detail key bills that the Chamber will take a position on and the reason for the stance.
Until then, we encourage you to frequent our Policy Center that features various legislative resources, including the Legislative Business Issues, which sets the framework for the Legislative Agenda.
If you have any comments or questions about a particular policy, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Chamber’s government affairs team.
Here’s to a very successful 2024 legislative session!
