LIFEDesigns, Inc. is a non-profit agency that provides services to individuals with disabilities. On January 1, 2012, two organizations – Options and Christole – merged to become one entity. Both served their communities for over 30 years. LIFEDesigns works with over 350 children and adults in Monroe, Owen, Lawrence, Morgan, Greene, Brown, Bartholomew and Johnson counties in Indiana. With the merger, LIFEDesigns is one of the larger employers in the area with over 350 staff. The primary function of the new organization is to partner with people with autism and other disabilities and their communities to bring about self-directed and fulfilled lives.
Beliefs: All people are valued human beings with rights, freedoms, and choices, can make significant contributions, are empowered by the dignity of risk and strengthened by their experiences, can benefit from meaningful relationships and citizenship and can and should direct their own lives. Services: respite – relief for caregivers; community living – supports for people who live at home; residential – group homes; supported employment – support finding and retaining employment; health care coordination – medical care; behavior management – behavior specialists; continuing education options (CEO) – community education; and housing – affordable and accessible housing.
