Intelligent Fiber Network
Formed in 2002, Intelligent Fiber Network (IFN) is owned by 20 Indiana local exchange telephone companies that offer state-of-the-art facilities in the communities they serve. These 20 IFN member/owners have an average existence of over 100 years, making IFN financially sound and technologically stable.
IFN provides high-speed fiber-optic backbone capabilities to these owners and other telecommunications providers and business direct customers, including hospitals, schools, and government facilities. IFN’s network consists of more than 4,500 route miles of fiber-optic line across more than 70 Indiana counties. IFN offers commercial service in Indiana and throughout the US via a network of national partners and is a leader in the highly competitive open marketplace of large enterprise customers, national carriers, and international carriers.
IFN’s mission is to be the first choice of businesses and carriers for fast, always-on, innovative connectivity solutions that enable its customers to succeed. IFN is highly experienced in the healthcare and higher education environments. They host the Indiana Rural Health Association shared platform for the Indiana Telehealth Network. IFN provides connectivity to rural/urban hospitals and clinics for high-speed imaging, electronic medical record applications, and other data transfers that require a secure data network. Likewise, IFN provides transport to educational campuses where high-speed and secure connections are required for distance-learning initiatives and administrative links.
