General Motors Components Holdings, LLC

With a history dating back to 1936, General Motors Components Holdings’ electronics manufacturing facility employs over a thousand employees in Kokomo and occupies a facility with over two million square feet of manufacturing space. It continues to produce and assemble industry leading electrical components and modules for multiple industries including semiconductors, engine and transmission control modules, crash sensing and diagnostics modules, pressure sensors for engine management and occupant detection, body computer modules and power electronics modules. With General Motors’ purchase of the facility in 2009, the organization has expanded its business into contract manufacturing by offering highly reliable electronic manufacturing services to customers in Indiana as well as around the globe.

The four business units that make up Kokomo Operations are its Semiconductor Fabrication and Testing Operations (capable of producing custom ASICs, MEMS, IGBT, MOSFET, bipolar, CMOS, and BCDMOS devices), its Thick Film Printing Operation for the fabrication of hybrid circuit boards, its Electronic Assembly Operation with 18 surface mount lines and highly reconfigurable lean assembly cells, and its Precision Machining and Tooling Center with quick-turn prototype and production capability. This vertically integrated service provider is capable of providing manufacturing expertise and synergies unlike any other electronics supplier in the world.
