(INDIANAPOLIS) — Governor Mike Braun signed Senate Enrolled Act 516 today, creating the new state Office of Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Indiana Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Vanessa Green Sinders comments:

“We were pleased to back this important legislation, which embodies Indiana’s commitment to both small businesses and being recognized as a place to foster innovation. It establishes a tangible ‘front door’ for entrepreneurs and those that support them and will undoubtedly result in a return on the state’s investment. This office will create economic opportunities in every community in the state, including those that may have been previously underserved.

“It ultimately will boost Indiana’s small business climate – a key to enhancing our economy – and will be helpful to consolidate resources and information for those who want to start and grow their businesses in the state

“We appreciate Governor Braun’s entrepreneurial background and mindset – and are grateful he sees the value in creating this new office and opportunity for Hoosiers.

“The Indiana Chamber believes entrepreneurship and innovation are so vital to the state’s competitiveness that the organization included it as one of the six key strategy areas in its current economic vision playbook for the state, Indiana Prosperity 2035.”
