(INDIANAPOLIS) — Indiana Chamber of Commerce President Kevin Brinegar comments on the announcement today from Gov. Eric Holcomb that the state has reached agreement on its first direct flight to Europe – Indianapolis to Paris on Delta Airlines:

“This is exciting news for the business community and represents a big step forward in connectivity with Europe and will make traveling to subsidiaries, parent companies and clients more convenient and efficient.

“It also reinforces the image that Indiana is a global player for business. The state has established itself as a leader on this important stage, particularly over the last decade-plus. Now, we have the direct air connections to support that status.

“The Indiana Chamber has been fully supportive of seeking direct flights to Europe and applauds Gov. Holcomb for his leadership in closing the deal, as well as the General Assembly for passing the funding to encourage more direct flights to international and domestic locations.

“A lot of hard work went into making this a reality and we believe it only represents the beginning of the travel avenues that Indiana will enjoy with Europe.”
