(INDIANAPOLIS) — Indiana Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Kevin Brinegar comments on the measure approved by the U.S. House of Representatives – and now the Senate – to avoid a rail strike that could have cost the economy an estimated $2 billion per day.
“We’re grateful Congress took the needed action and an agreement is now in place to keep our rail system operating, thus avoiding what would’ve been a disastrous economic disruption at a time when supply chains are already pressured.
“A rail strike would have caused serious pain to Indiana as one of the most manufacturing and agriculture-intensive states in the nation.”
