(INDIANAPOLIS) — The Indiana Chamber of Commerce is endorsing Republican small business owner Trey Hollingsworth for Congress in the 9th District. The announcement was made today at a press conference in Jeffersonville.

“Trey has been doing business in Indiana for over a decade. He understands what it takes to run a company and has experienced firsthand the struggles that federal regulation can bring – dampening innovation, growth and day-to-day activities,” says Kevin Brinegar, Indiana Chamber president and CEO.

“We firmly believe Trey will strive to make things better for employers across Indiana and throughout the United States.”

States Hollingsworth: “Job creators of all sizes and across all industries deserve a Congress that will work for employees and employers, not set up roadblocks to their success. I am honored to have the support of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, and I look forward to working with their members to assist citizens of the 9th District and get Washington back to business.”

The Indiana Chamber’s nonpartisan congressional action committee, comprised of volunteer business leaders from around the state, determined Hollingsworth’s endorsement. The group conducted interviews with both Hollingsworth and the Democratic nominee, Shelli Yoder, to determine their views on pro-jobs, pro-economy policies.

Representatives of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which also is supporting the Hollingsworth campaign, joined the Indiana Chamber for the press event at Amatrol headquarters.
