The state of Indiana has now opened up registration to make it easier for more companies to either host vaccine clinics on site OR go as a group to an existing vaccine clinic.
1. ATTEND A CLINIC AS A GROUP (OR FOR INDIVIDUALS)
An alternative to hosting a clinic is making arrangements for your group (employees and family members age 16 and older) to get vaccinated at any local clinic. View list of vaccine sites by county.
In northwest Indiana, that includes these additional convenient options:
• Mass vaccination site at Gary Roosevelt High School, which is open 9 a.m.-7 p.m. daily through June 2 and accepts drive-thru and walk-up appointments. While appointments are preferred, it’s not necessary. There are several free transportation options available, including the Gary bus system as well as Uber and Lyft. The latter two can be arranged by calling 2-1-1.
• Mobile clinics through the end of May. Each mobile clinic has about 500 doses per day. Appointments can be made at ourshot.in.gov.
Indiana Chamber President and CEO Kevin Brinegar: “The more Hoosiers get vaccinated, the sooner our businesses and the lives of our workers can get back to a semblance of normalcy. If you have a significant population of employees that hasn’t yet been vaccinated, I encourage you to consider one of these convenient state options.”
2. HOST YOUR ON SITE VACCINE CLINIC
Companies with a minimum of 100 individuals can request to host a vaccine clinic at its location. The Indiana State Department of Health requires 100 people (employees OR employees plus family members age 16 and older). Smaller businesses can also pull together to reach the 100-person threshold.
This state playbook details all the requirements (including having proper storage of the vaccine) that must be met to host an on site clinic. A key section advises how to arrange for a local clinician to administer the shot (if there is not qualified staff such as a company nurse).
If you qualify to host an on-site clinic and have questions after reading the playbook, email

Vaccine information is being provided by the Wellness Council of Indiana; Jennifer Pferrer is available at (317) 264-2168 and jpferrer@indianachamber.com to answer your questions.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The two-shot Pfizer vaccine is the one the state has allocated for use at business sites. It requires a second dose 21-25 days after the initial injection to reach peak effectiveness.
