Letting the Imperfect Be the Enemy of the Highly Imperfect: Tax Policy in a Divided Washington

This will cover the status and prospects of business tax legislation in the 118th Congress, along with the Biden administration’s efforts to implement the major tax and energy security provisions in the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.  We will also touch on recent key developments with the OECD’s two-pillar plan for global tax reform and how the United States is (not) responding thereto. And we’ll wrap things up on a high note with some musings on the current debt ceiling standoff and looming 2025 fiscal cliff, when dozens of business and individual tax provisions are slated to expire or change (for the worse).
