No business or organization wants to deal with a security breach. But as the saying goes, hope is not a strategy, and cases of data compromises are only growing.
A new Indiana Chamber training program, the Cybersecurity Conference on May 1-2, will offer the opportunity to learn from top cybersecurity and data privacy professionals on how to best protect company operations and information.
Program topics will appeal to everyone who handles personal or confidential information related to employees, customers, patients, students, trade secrets and other sensitive areas. The conference is especially recommended for C-level executives, human resources and public relations professionals, in-house and general counsels, board members, and insurance and risk managers.
Sessions will address the following:
- Cybersecurity risks for every organization
- Handling the aftermath of a data security breach
- Analyzing and managing security vendors
- Proactive monitoring and responding to potential threats
- Criminal activity and the dark web
- Legal and insurance issues
- HIPAA concerns and compliance
- Sourcing cybersecurity talent
There will also be a session featuring the Governor’s Executive Council on Cybersecurity.
Registration is $499 for Chamber members and $599 for non-members. The two-day event takes place at the Indiana Chamber Conference Center in downtown Indianapolis.
It is presented by Ice Miller LLP along with sponsorship from WGU Indiana, Qumulus Solutions, Matrix Integration, LLC and Purdue University. Additional sponsorship opportunities are available; contact Jim Wagner at (317) 264-6876.
