As we close the book on this legislative session, our attention has shifted to convening to gather perspectives and build momentum that will prepare us to advocate for your best interests during the 2027 General Assembly.

We met last week with metro chambers of commerce from across the state. Economic development was front and center with Indiana Secretary of Commerce David Adams joining us to share state insights and hear firsthand local accounts from business leaders.

Part of the discussion centered on what further legislation is needed to stimulate economic growth. And not just incentives but also talent and workforce, which we know is also key for employers.

One specific policy discussed with the metro chambers was data centers. The Indiana Chamber supports the responsible development of data centers as part of a broader strategy to strengthen Indiana’s digital infrastructure and competitiveness.

We will continue to engage with local and regional chambers and other stakeholders on this issue and to share information on why a data center may make sense for their community.
