(INDIANAPOLIS) — Indiana Chamber President and CEO Kevin Brinegar on the recent events in communities across the state:

“Our thoughts are with the individuals and companies all over the state that have been directly impacted by the riots of this past weekend. Protesting the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis and the systemic racism that imperils our country is the right of every American. Destroying the property of others, setting fires and other lawlessness obviously crosses the line of peaceful and constructive activism.

“Locally, it was shocking to see the level of destruction in downtown Indianapolis near the PNC Center, where our office resides. We know many others have also been directly and indirectly impacted. Let’s hope the relatively peaceful evenings on Sunday and Monday mark the beginning of healing throughout the state.”
