(INDIANAPOLIS) — The Indiana Chamber of Commerce announced today its endorsement of Jim Banks (R-Columbia City) for the 3rd congressional district seat.

“As a state senator, Jim Banks demonstrated a commitment to hard work and leadership on issues important to Indiana’s future,” says Kevin Brinegar, Indiana Chamber president and CEO. “Jim Banks is tenacious in his support of free enterprise and policies to grow our Indiana and U.S. economies.”

Banks, a commercial real estate broker and officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve, is “very passionate about service to our country,” Brinegar adds. “We expect he will be one of the most active and engaged members of the freshman class in Congress.”

States Banks: “I am honored to receive the support of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce. As a state legislator, I have worked to advance a pro-growth agenda and support northeast Indiana’s business community. I am proud of the continued economic progress our state is making and believe Washington should follow the Indiana model. I look forward to fighting for policies that promote growth and opportunity on a national level.”

The Indiana Chamber’s nonpartisan congressional action committee, comprised of volunteer business leaders from around the state, determined Banks’ endorsement.
