Over the past year, perhaps an intern helped you fill your workforce gap and did an amazing job in the process. Or the one who supervised the young talent had such a strong game plan that it elevated the learning experience and positive impact on the company.
Now is the time to give them kudos! Work and Learn Indiana (formerly Indiana INTERNnet) is celebrating internship excellence with the 16th Annual IMPACT Awards. The deadline for nominations is Friday, November 5.
It only takes a few minutes to recognize someone’s dedication to an internship or internship program. You do not need to be a Work and Learn Indiana user to submit a nomination – and can submit more than one nomination in any or all of the four award categories:
Intern of the Year – Recognizes an intern that made a positive impact in their role, showed growth in leadership skills and always expressed professionalism in the workplace. There are three categories: college, high school and non-traditional.
Career Development Professional of the Year – Celebrates assistance to students with internship opportunities; communication with students/employers; and coaching students on internship professionalism and career development. We divided the category into two categories: high school and college.
Employer of the Year – Honors an innovative approach to an internship program; formation of meaningful project work; and providing students with professional mentor and networking opportunities. Employers are permitted to nominate themselves.
Intern Supervisor of the Year – Recognizes a specific individual at a company who provided their intern(s) with excellent opportunities, outstanding leadership, professionalism and mentorship: going above and beyond the standard work expectations as a supervisor; providing interns with a variety of opportunities; possessing unique qualities that sets them apart from other internship supervisors.
