Cascade Asset Management (Cascade), a national leader in providing full service IT asset disposition (ITAD) solutions to businesses and institutions, announced that it will be hosting an Open House event on April 11th, 2018, from 2:30pm to 6:30pm. Visitors and media representatives will be given guided tours of the site, which is capable of processing more than 250,000 assets for refurbishment and more than 2 million pounds of electronics for responsible recycling per year.

Visitors will be able to take part in interactive, informative workshops and presentations. The keynote workshop will be led by Christopher Collins, former FBI Special Agent and current Vice President of Infragard Indiana Members Alliance (an FBI program linking public and private sectors in order to share information on cyber crime counterintelligence and counterterrorism), as well as advisor and member of the Indiana Executive Council on Cybersecurity.

The schedule includes presentations of research from Purdue University professors and students involved in the National Science Foundation’s IGERT, interdisciplinary training program. Their research includes topics related to electronics reuse and recycling, and promises to help direct the next evolutionary steps in IT asset disposition.

Guided tours include insightful summaries of the processes involved in taking end-of-use IT assets from receipt at our facility through sorting, inventory, refurbishment, and resale or environmentally sound recycling, while ensuring the destruction of any data remaining on the devices. Data is destroyed using a number of different processes from sanitization or “wiping” to physical crushing or shredding of media such as hard disk drives.

All visitors can enjoy food and refreshments as well as the chance to walk away with one of several valuable gifts during drawings held throughout the event. Visit cascade-assets.com for more information about the event and to register.
