Human resources professionals are often the “behind-the-scenes” superstars in your companies and organizations. The already important role keeps getting a little more difficult with talent challenges and ever-changing regulatory responsibilities.

In a special section in the July-August 2019 issue of BizVoice® magazine, key words that kept coming up in a series of stories were resiliency, embracing change and adapting. The 2020 Ogletree Deakins Human Resources Professional of the Year award will recognize someone demonstrating those characteristics and more.

Nominations are open. The annual award recognizes a full-time employee who has made significant contributions to his or her organization through implementing best practices, organization design and effectiveness, and aligning the company’s strategic direction.

The candidate should also have a proven track record of giving back to the community and the human resources profession.

Self-nominations and nominations by a peer, subordinate, supervisor or other person are accepted. All submissions must be accompanied by a sponsorship letter from the proposed honoree’s organization. Nominate your HR superstar by the Feb. 14 deadline.

The 2020 honoree will be announced during the Indiana Chamber’s 56th Annual HR Conference in Indianapolis on May 7.

Kania Lottie earned the 2019 honor for her efforts on behalf of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis.
