The holiday season is just around the corner, presenting more opportunities to spread joy and volunteer individually or as a group.

Toys for Tots Indianapolis kicks off its campaign each year in early October. The organization is currently looking for many volunteers to work in the warehouse sorting toys and packing them for delivery. Last year, the program distributed 45,652 toys to 43,052 children in 12 different Indiana counties.

Sabrina Young, coordinator for Toys For Tots Indianapolis, coordinates volunteers to make sure deliveries are made on time.

“Our volunteers get to see all the latest and greatest toys that everyone wants. And our volunteers work,” Young notes. “We get thanked, a lot of times, when volunteers leave because they felt like they were really able to help.”

The Toys for Tots program has space at the Gleaners warehouse (near the airport) and can accommodate individuals, families or large groups that wish to donate their time.
