Krista Ricci joined our government affairs team last week as our vice president of taxation and policy, bringing 17 years of legislative experience. She has spent the past seven years (three budget cycles) at the Indiana Senate as the director of fiscal policy, reporting to the Senate president pro tempore and working for all majority caucus members. In this role, she was responsible for staffing the Appropriations Committee and Tax and Fiscal Policy Committee, serving on the state’s revenue technical forecast committee, tracking all bills with a fiscal impact and assisting with compiling the state’s budget.

“I’m thrilled to be able to use my knowledge of state and local taxes and fiscal policy for the benefit of the business community,” Ricci shares. “I’m also excited to learn more about how the private sector functions and am looking forward to advocating for pro-business tax policies and fiscal policy positions on behalf of the Chamber.”

During the 2019 session, Ricci worked for Indiana University’s government relations team, assisting primarily with the university’s budget request. In 2018, she worked as the legislative director for the Department of Revenue, during which tax conformity to the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, data center tax benefits and software as a service were all major legislative tax topics. Prior to that, Ricci also interned for the Indiana Senate, was a Borst Fiscal Fellow, legislative assistant and fiscal analyst.
