Mission
The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies through the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.
Our Presence in the Indiana Region
For over 100 years, the Red Cross has been serving the Indiana Region, reaching 6.9 million people across 104 counties in Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky and Ohio.
We aspire to turn compassion into action so that all people affected by disasters – both locally and globally – receive care, shelter and hope; everyone in our country has access to safe, lifesaving blood and blood products; our communities are ready and prepared for disasters; all members of our armed forces and their families find support and comfort whenever needed; and in an emergency, there are always trained individuals nearby, ready to use their Red Cross skills to save lives.
How You Can Help
Give Time: Volunteers represent more than 90% of our workforce. These community heroes embody our lifesaving mission and make it possible for the Red Cross to help people in need every day. By giving time, you can make a real difference in people’s lives.
Give Blood: Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. Volunteer donors are the only source of blood and platelets for those in need of transfusions. Eligible individuals are encouraged to schedule a blood or platelet donation by using the Red Cross Blood Donor app, visiting RedCrossBlood.org or calling 1-800-RED-CROSS (800-733-2767).
Make a financial donation: Your financial gift helps people affected by disasters big and small.
