It’s a new era for the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and the broader statewide business community. In January, Vanessa Green Sinders, who is full of energy and ideas, took the helm as president and CEO of the organization and is the first female to hold the position.
In this in-depth Q&A, get to know Sinders, her passion for making a difference and the vision she has to propel the Indiana Chamber and its members further ahead.
The current edition of BizVoice also contains several additional features. They include:
Winning Ways: Hoosier Racing Tire put the pedal to the metal to win the Chamber’s third annual Coolest Thing Made in Indiana contest. The Plymouth-based venture, which makes more racing tires than any other company in the world, went all in on a marketing campaign and got a boost from other businesses and even the mayor in its hometown to outrun a strong field of competitors.
Workforce Game Changer: More than 100 Indiana leaders from the business, education and government sectors traveled to Switzerland last fall to learn about an innovative apprenticeship model used there.
What they found, say the trip’s delegates, is a game changer for the entire state. Now, the group is ready to take the next step to put a Hoosier spin on the model and implement it throughout Indiana.
Spotlight on Elkhart County: Growth is coming to this northernmost county, a region nestled along the Indiana-Michigan border and well known for its RV manufacturing prowess and Amish craftsmanship. Among new attractions are a major aquatic center, health club and community center – not to mention a massive redevelopment in downtown Elkhart.
