Indiana is recognizing the impact of interns, internships and work-based learning opportunities during the fifth annual Indiana Intern Day on Thursday, July 27. Work and Learn Indiana, partnering with the Indiana Commission for Higher Education, encourages Hoosier employers, educators and intermediaries to celebrate and recognize interns and meaningful internship experiences on social media.
Work and Learn Indiana is the Indiana Chamber’s a free work-based learning matching marketplace connecting Hoosier employers, anyone seeking a work-based learning experience.
Modeled after National Intern Day, the Commission and Work and Learn Indiana encourage employers, educators and intern supervisors to fill out this pledge form to recognize interns on Indiana Intern Day. After completing the pledge, participants will receive a digital content kit with graphics and other promotional pieces.
“Work-based learning is a critical tool in the state’s strategy for talent development,” offers Todd Hurst, executive director of the Chamber’s Institute for Workforce Excellence, which counts Work and Learn Indiana as one of its flagship programs.
“Today is an opportunity to step back and celebrate the employers who dedicate their time and expertise to the development of our future workforce by hosting work-based learning opportunities and the students who have made the conscious effort to build their skills and competencies right here in Indiana. “
