Maybe your industry gets hit by unpredictable market undulations. Perhaps your business is still reeling from the pandemic. Or you’re dealt an unexpected crisis. It’s simply inevitable that the path of any business won’t always be smooth. How you’re able to recalibrate and move forward has a tremendous impact on the future. Several companies on the 2022 Best Places to Work list have emerged from the tumult of the past two years and maintained admirable – even enviable – workplace cultures. They offer insights on what they’ve learned and the practices implemented that help attract and retain today’s employees.
The current edition of BizVoice also contains several additional features. They include:
A Wealth of Care: In some ways, the timing for Chesterton-based Lakeside Wealth Management being acquired by the larger North Carolina-based CAPTRUST couldn’t have been worse. After all, the spring of 2020 was a time of considerable upheaval for all employers and employees. But CAPTRUST took a hands-off management approach with its acquisition and let the Hoosier operation maintain its small-town vibe. That autonomy and employees’ realization that being part of CAPTRUST increased their opportunities are big reasons why the firm ranked No. 1 in the large company category in the 2022 Best Places to Work program.
Giving Wildly: Warsaw-based Wildman Business Group is celebrating 70 years in business. The company, which specializes in custom uniform programs, janitorial and cleaning solutions, first aid, safety and industrial products, has seen plenty of change since its founding. One thing, though, hasn’t changed. Wildman has remained focused on changing lives and giving back, including donating at least 20% of its profits to charitable causes.
New Law Lifts Economic Development Efforts: The Indiana Economic Development Corporation and local governments now have powerful new tools at their disposal to attract talent and development across the Hoosier state. Senate Bill 361 was a top priority for the Indiana Chamber during this year’s General Assembly due to its power to build on the state’s already strong economy.
