(INDIANAPOLIS) — An upcoming Indiana Chamber of Commerce event is designed to help organizations address a host of workforce challenges. The day-and-a-half 2021 Indiana Workforce Summit on September 30 and October 1 also will feature traditional issues that businesses deal with – such as talent pipelines, employer-led collaborations, hiring and training data.
“Strong public programs and leadership from the private sector are the essential ingredients for creating a highly-skilled workforce,” says Jason Bearce, Indiana Chamber vice president of education and workforce development. “The Indiana Workforce Summit will focus on the current happenings in our state as well as what needs to happen moving forward for Hoosier businesses to be successful.”
The Indiana Workforce Summit will take place both in-person at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Indianapolis and virtually. Attendees can choose either format and will have equal access to educational sessions, exhibitors and presenters.
The first day’s keynote comes from Indiana Commission for Higher Education Commissioner Teresa Lubbers, who delivers her “State of the Workforce.” Day two’s featured talk is entitled, “College and Careers: How Committing Support for Underserved Students Beyond Graduation is a Pathway to Success,” by Christel House President and CEO Bart Peterson and Executive Director Dr. Sarah Weimer.
Additional featured topics include the impact of business ethics on culture, the untapped workforce, reshuffling and retirement, how COVID-19 killed the traditional workplace and recruiting changes.
The Indiana Chamber will also unveil the results of its 14th annual workforce survey of employers across the state.
