(INDIANAPOLIS) — Indiana INTERNnet (IIN)’s 15th Annual IMPACT Awards Celebration is set to take place virtually on February 23. It will focus on the resiliency of students, employers and educators during a particularly challenging year for work-based learning.
Awards will be given in the areas of Intern Supervisor of the Year, Intern of the Year (high school, college and non-traditional), Career Development Professional of the Year (high school and college) and Employer of the Year (for-profit and non-profit). A special recognition, the David R. McKinnis Community Partner award, will honor a program that works to better its community by creating quality internships and experiential learning opportunities.
“We know that the COVID-19 pandemic led to difficult decisions about completing internships or hosting interns last year. But we are thrilled to be able to honor those who persevered and completed meaningful work-based learning in 2020,’ said IIN Executive Director Mike Slocum. “The learning that occurred last year will help students stand out from their peers for years to come, and the employers that hosted interns continue to reap the benefits of meeting young talent and hiring them after graduation.”
Registration of the celebration’s livestream is free. Individuals have the option to purchase a gift box full of Indiana-made items for $50, including shipping, as a way to recognize nominees. For more information, registration and to purchase a gift box, visit www.indianaintern.net/impact-awards.
