In odd-numbered years – when a new state budget is adopted – April is the true “game time” for the Indiana General Assembly. Deadlines (more on that in a moment) lead to decisive outcomes that have short- and long-term impacts on your organizations.
An excellent way to stay informed and get your questions answered is to take advantage of the members-only Policy Issue Conference Call. Your advocacy team takes you behind the scenes to outline Chamber actions and ultimate results.
The April 9 call (access the replay) featured discussion of the still evolving budget, good news on educational opportunities for young people, continued work on investments in the state’s economic future and more.
We mentioned deadlines earlier. Lawmakers have until April 29 to conclude their work but declared several weeks ago that their intention was to wrap up the session by April 21. If they stay true to their word, we will return on April 23 (instead of the previously scheduled April 30) with analysis and an overview of the accomplishments and shortcomings – there will be plenty of both.
Register, tune in, ask a question or comment if you wish and learn how your company and its workers will be affected.
