Maybe the theme for the Indiana Chamber’s 30th Annual Awards Dinner should be: “Why can’t we all just get along?”

That’s one of the messages you can expect to hear from keynote speakers Donna Brazile and Dana Perino. It’s also part of the legacy displayed by two former Indiana senators who are being honored for their standout careers.

Brazile, a former interim chair of the Democratic National Committee, has been a leading voice for her party for many years. Perino is a former White House press secretary for President George W. Bush. Both now share Fox News as one of the outlets for their different political perspectives.

Perino serves as a commentator and co-host of The Five, and anchor of The Daily Briefing with Dana Perino. She is also a publishing executive. Brazile is the founder and managing director of Brazile & Associates. She is also an adjunct professor at Georgetown University; syndicated newspaper columnist for Universal Unclick; columnist for O, the Oprah Magazine; and most recently started at Fox News as a contributor.

The pair will take the stage together on November 7 at the Chamber’s annual celebration of Indiana business.

“In an era that unfortunately features too much partisanship and an inability for political leaders to work together, we feel the unifying message of Donna and Dana is a perfect fit for this event,” states Indiana Chamber President Kevin Brinegar. “We look forward to their perceptions and analysis.”

During the event, the Indiana Chamber will once again present four top honors. One of those awards has been given a new name – the Birch Bayh and Richard Lugar Government Leader of the Year award.

The two former Indiana senators, who both passed away earlier this year, leave behind a long list of accomplishments. Included is their ability to reach across the aisle and place important public policy ahead of politics. With the support of their families, the annual award for the government official dedicated to improving the business climate in our state will now receive the Bayh-Lugar award.

The dinner will also honor the Ogletree Deakins Business Leader of the Year, Dynamic Leader of the Year, and Republic Airways and LIFT Academy Community of the Year.

More than 1,500 people are expected to attend the dinner, which is presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
