STAR Bank is pleased to announce David Greenwood has been named to the role of Fraud Investigation Manager.

Greenwood comes to STAR from Chicago where he spent 23 years in law enforcement, including as a Detective with the Financial Crimes Unit of the Chicago Police Department and as a task force officer with the Federal Bureau of Investigation since 2016. He will primarily be training and developing STAR’s fraud analysts and processors ensuring procedures and policies are followed and will work closely with physical security, information security and payment services to ensure the protection of customers, employees and other bank assets.

During his time in law enforcement, Greenwood investigated complex financial crimes, including work on the Money Laundering Squad of the FBI. He investigated criminal activities ranging from embezzlement, check and credit card fraud, forgery and other deceptive practices. His detail with the FBI included work targeting Chicago-area street gangs and their associates.

Greenwood holds a BA from the Moody Bible Institute and MBA from St. Xavier University where he received an academic achievement award in Financial Fraud Analysis.

He has served as an advisory board member of Camp Awana in Fredonia, Wisconsin since 2019.
