PNC Institutional Asset Management announced the appointment of John Shope to senior vice president and market managing director for Indiana. Based in Indianapolis, Shope will lead a team of experienced sales, implementation and relationship-management professionals at PNC Institutional Asset Management, which provides clients with Outsourced Chief Investment Officer services, liquidity and fixed income management, asset servicing, and retirement plan solutions.
Shope assumes a role previously held by Rebecca Jacklin who was promoted to senior nonprofit strategist to help support PNC Institutional Asset Management in the Midwest.
“John is an accomplished leader with deep expertise in institutional asset management who will build on the positive impact Rebecca generated in her role as market leader,” said Jason Eckerle, PNC regional president of central and southern Indiana. “John’s record of success will allow us to further strengthen our existing client relationships and position us to advance PNC’s growth strategy in the region.”
Shope brings over 30 years of experience in financial services experience to the role. He recently served as a national sales manager of retirement and institutional services for Truist Bank, in addition to serving in senior leadership roles for private banking, investment management and sales and marketing.
He earned a bachelor’s degree and MBA from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary, Certified Professional Retirement Coach, and he holds a Series 65, Investment Advisor Representative License.
Shope is active in the community and has served as a leader and board member for various community organizations, including Junior Achievement and local YMCA chapters during his career.
