On September 29th, 2017, the Indianapolis, IN location of Lafayette Steel & Aluminum LLC, a division of Oscar Winski Company, was honored with the OSHA Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) certification. The Indianapolis facility joins three other Oscar Winski divisions as a recipient of the SHARP recognition: Lafayette Steel & Aluminum of Chicago, IL; Blue Arrow Truck Shop, Lafayette IN.; and Oscar Winski eRecycling, Lafayette IN.
The SHARP certification recognizes small business employers who operate an exemplary injury and illness prevention program. Receiving the SHARP certification from OSHA singles Oscar Winski Company & Lafayette Steel & Aluminum out among their business peers as a model for worksite safety and health. By achieving SHARP status, Lafayette Steel & Aluminum of Indianapolis joins an elite group of small businesses who have taken this extra step to ensure the safety of their employees. Presently there are 35 companies in Indiana who have this recognition.
To receive this certification, companies must meet a stringent set of health and safety requirements, thus resulting in a safer work environment for all of their employees. Representatives from Oscar Winski have said they are extremely proud of the work their employees do on a daily basis to cultivate a culture where safety and health are integrated in all aspects of their work. This constant focus on safety is driven by employees in conjunction with management support.
Lafayette Steel & Aluminum Sales LLC, a division of Oscar Winski Company, has 45 employees at their Indianapolis location. Oscar Winski has been in operation for over 100 years and has provided steel and aluminum product solutions and services in the Midwest for nearly 30 years.
