Company honored for second consecutive year in all four markets where it serves clients

Results from the PLANSPONSOR magazine 2019 Annual Defined Contribution (DC) Survey again showcase the strength of OneAmerica® as a service-focused recordkeeper in the primary markets in which the company serves retirement plan clients.

For the second consecutive year, OneAmerica received Best in Class awards by the national industry trade magazine in all possible sponsor service/support categories for each of the four asset markets in which the company qualified.

A Best in Class award, also referred to as a Cup, is earned by being one of the top three providers in a specific category or by achieving net satisfaction higher than the category benchmark. OneAmerica earned 12 of its total 46 awards for Sponsor Service/Support. Subcategories include plan/industry knowledge, responsiveness and consistency, and regulatory/compliance support.

“Serving clients means everything to us, and we’re committed to developing personal relationships with our clients,” said Sandy McCarthy, president of Retirement Services for OneAmerica. “These honors are especially significant because they come from the clients who work with us each day and can attest to the fact that OneAmerica truly understands their needs.”

For the second year in a row, OneAmerica swept the Sponsor Service/Support category, and increased its overall Cup count for all categories.

“This increase speaks to the fact that our people, our culture and the services we provide keep our clients at the forefront of all we do,” McCarthy said. “Plan sponsors feel our commitment and know that they can trust OneAmerica to support their needs.”

Overall, 46 Best in Class awards placed OneAmerica in the top 10 in the under $5 million asset market, top 10 in the $5 million to $25 million asset market, top five in the $25 million to $50 million asset market, and top five in the $50 to $200 million market. The dollar amounts reflect the value of a single organization’s or company’s retirement plans.

From a Best in Class perspective, OneAmerica showed gains, as compared to last year’s survey, in three categories: plan administration, education/communications, and investments/fees. These gains, particularly seen in the $25-$50M and $50-$200M asset classes, demonstrate customization as a key differentiator for the company.

In addition to the company-focused awards, a OneAmerica associate was also recognized in the Service Star competition. Nominated by retirement plan sponsors, Service Star awards seek to recognize those who provide superior service. Sue Gossett, a Florida-based relationship manager with OneAmerica since 2010, was one of four awarded the 2019 Service Star[1] Individual Award, from more than 800 nominees.

OneAmerica was one of nearly two dozen retirement plan providers eligible for ranking by the publication. The annual survey compiles data and inputs from more than 3,500 respondents.
