Kimball creates environments that foster collaboration, provide an enriching work experience and transform a culture by introducing new ways of working. Featuring these concepts in workplace design and the integration of technology in its latest solutions, the company’s Chicago showroom, located just outside the Merchandise Mart at 325 North Wells Street, is open daily Monday, June 11th through Wednesday, June 13th starting at 8:00 am during North America’s largest design exposition for commercial interiors.

The Kimball Chicago Showroom is a curated, tailored experience that frames our full-facility solutions, creating inspiration to transform the workplace into a destination of choice. Attendees will experience a destination that incorporates creative thinking and supports mindfulness in the workplace. The showroom evokes a forward-thinking approach to products and spaces that allow individuals to interact and collaborate with personal comfort in the workplace.

“As we look to the future of the workplace, our goal is to push boundaries, challenge the norms and spark creativity. We are providing environments that create comfort and foster well-being, as well as immersive areas for both community and collaboration to enhance productivity. Technology is intimately connected with our life, work and communication, and it is seamlessly interwoven into all facets of the showroom’s design,” states Wendy Murray, director of Brand at Kimball.

The 2018 featured collections echo what is important to Kimball; quality products that inspire, spaces that improve well-being, and a focus on people with the goal of happiness in the workplace.

The showroom showcases social and interactive space along with activity based working areas. One of the latest product features in the space fiXt, with a refined take on the industrial look, brings a timeless style to the workplace where design and unparalleled quality meet. Narrate, which epitomizes the future of adaptable design, has a crisp, clean aesthetic and is designed to be an integral component to the open workstation design layout, using end panels to make a statement, insert a variety of materials, or punctuate specific work zones. New seating collections include Helio, with elegant design features that embrace human and natural elements to create the perfect balance of personal comfort and visual continuity. Two new chairs, Nate and Natty, blend appealing style with comfort and versatility, providing a welcome new arrangement to today’s work and health landscapes. Pairings Nooks, offers all the seclusion and amenities of an office in the form of an intimate home with options for power, data, lights and workspace.

Partnering with craftsman Hennepin Made and Avo through our brilliant partner program, the showroom will feature handmade glass blown lighting and hand-dyed leather end-panel components. Our partnership with these makers, along with our design partners, reinstate our commitment to apply modern craft and develop forward-thinking solutions that help our clients succeed.

Kimball’s heritage is built on a culture of caring that is engrained in everything we do. This culture extends beyond what we make and how we make it to specific initiatives that support our customers, communities and our world. Kimball fully supports start-up companies and one such company, Live Life Nice, was developed by an entrepreneur in the Sixers Innovation Lab crafted by Kimball. Live Life Nice is a cause driven company that is dedicated to empowering, motivating and inspiring people to be nice and to do nice. By joining this movement, the showroom will feature a maker station located in the design hub, where attendees can create custom, hand stamped dog tag necklaces or pick from our pre-made options. For every dog-tag, Kimball will donate $1 to K9S 4 Dog tags, an Indiana nonprofit organization that pairs soldiers with PTSD and Shelter Dogs Together.

“The workplace transformation is in hyper mode and now more than ever the fusion of digital and physical harmony takes precedence. Our Chicago showroom showcases emerging technologies in an interactive and immersive experience with a key driver of comfort. Mindfulness and well-being are key to recruiting the top talent and our showroom demonstrates how furniture and technology can improve comfort in the workplace, making it a destination so amazing that everyone wants to work in it,” concludes Murray.
