Ice Miller LLP’s Director of Agribusiness Strategies Beth Bechdol received the Indiana State Department of Agriculture (ISDA) AgriVision Award on Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017. The award was presented during the Lieutenant Governor’s Celebration of Agriculture at the Indiana State Fair.
“Beth is a true champion for Indiana’s agriculture community, from her leadership at the Indiana State Department of Agriculture when it was first created by then-Gov. Mitch Daniels to her active support of Indiana agribusiness and her advocacy for food and agricultural innovation,” said Melissa Proffitt, office managing partner of Ice Miller and chair of the Agribusiness Group. “Her receipt of this award is well-deserved and is an excellent acknowledgement of her hard work, talent, dedication and vision for Indiana agriculture.”
Beth is responsible for coordinating and managing Ice Miller’s Agribusiness Group team and services. She serves as the president and CEO of AgriNovus Indiana and served as president of the Agribusiness Council of Indiana from July 2010 through January 2017.
Beth is the former deputy director of the first-ever ISDA, where she played an integral role in establishing the agency and crafting Indiana’s agriculture strategic plan developed by then-Gov. Daniels. She was directly involved in ISDA’s international trade and investment activities through participation in then-Gov. Daniels’ four trade missions and coordination of then- Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman’s two agricultural trade missions.

Currently in its 11th year, the AgriVision Award is open to any Indiana resident and all sectors of agriculture—from bioenergy to livestock to trade. It was specifically created to honor an individual who has reshaped Indiana agriculture through his or her visionary ideas in innovation, technology and/or agribusiness.
