Experience the Arts at Valpo This Fall

VALPARAISO – Members of the public are invited to celebrate Valparaiso University’s passion for the arts by attending a fall concert or theater performance. Ring in the new school year with our homecoming events, join us for October fun with the annual Halloween Spooktacular, or enjoy the many offerings of our dedicated student-performers throughout the semester.

Performances are free unless otherwise noted.

Faculty Showcase Recital, Friday, Aug. 28, 7:30 p.m., Duesenberg Recital Hall Valparaiso University Center for the Arts: Valpo’s annual Faculty Showcase Recital features solo and collaborative performances by faculty from the Department of Music.

Homecoming Concert, Saturday, Sept. 26, 4 p.m., Chapel of the Resurrection: Welcome Home! Attend the 2026 Homecoming Concert, featuring the Chorale, Chamber Concert Band, and the Symphony Orchestra.

Chamber Concert Band Concert, Saturday, Oct. 3, 4 p.m., Chapel of the Resurrection.

Luce Concert Band and Community/University Concert Band Performance, Saturday, Oct. 3, 7:30 p.m., Chapel of the Resurrection.

Choral Concert — An American Celebration, Friday, Oct. 9, 7:30 p.m., Chapel of the Resurrection: Celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with the Valparaiso University choirs in a concert featuring American choral music.

Symphony Orchestra Halloween Spooktacular, Tuesday, Oct. 27, 6:30 p.m., Chapel of the Resurrection: The University’s Symphony Orchestra presents its fourth annual Halloween Spooktacular concert. Attendees of all ages are welcome and costumes are encouraged.

The Wizard of Oz (Municipal Theatre of St. Louis edition), Thursday and Friday, Nov. 5–6, 8 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 7–8, 2 p.m., University Theatre Valparaiso University Center for the Arts: Join Valparaiso University as our theatre department joins the symphony orchestra in retelling the classic story of the Wizard of Oz, adapted for stage performance by the Municipal Theatre of St. Louis

Tickets will be available online, or can be purchased in-person at the VUCA.

Valparaiso University Jazz Ensemble, Saturday, Nov. 14, 7:30 p.m., University Theatre.
