Effective date: The Families First Act Notice is mandatory to be posted in workplaces between April 1-December 31, 2020.

What does the Families First Act cover? It expands family and medical leave requirements for all public and private employers with up to 500 employees. Covered employers must provide 2 weeks (up to 80 hours or a part-time employee’s 2-week equivalent) of paid sick leave dependent on qualifying reasons for leave related to COVID-19. Up to an additional 10 weeks of paid expanded family and medical leave for employees who are unable to work due to a bona fide need for leave to care for a child whose school or child care provider is closed or unavailable for reasons related to COVID-19.
