Alarming trends and new research have shown that mental health concerns are on the rise. In the workplace, where the average American spends the majority of their waking life, it is everyone’s responsibility to recognize a troubled employee, understand methods of recognizing mental health issues and the importance of prevention. By learning the warning signs and working through a list of do’s and don’ts, an action plan is developed to create a healthy corporate culture free of stigma and shame. Resources and EAP services available to the employee are also discussed
Professionals attending this program will learn numerous effective interventions to promote the culture of eliminating stigma around mental health and create an environment where everyone is encouraged to get help by accessing resources available to them.
Course objectives include:
- Determining the impact of clinical depression and anxiety in the workplace as well as how to identify appropriate intervention methods
- Recognizing your role in your organization in preventing depression, anxiety, suicide and the possibility of catastrophic events
- Describing the benefits of of recognizing and treating troubled employees including enriched work environments, increased attendance, enhanced interactions, bolstered productivity and morale as well as corporate and individual advancement
- Sharing and interacting to learn the value of handling troubled subjects with progressive individualized outreach to maximize belonging and minimizing suffering and/or isolation
