October 9 - October 10
This two-day event offers business leaders the opportunity to deliver their federal policy priorities and concerns directly to Indiana congressional offices in D.C., as well as hear from other dynamic speakers about need-to-know topics.
The first day features detailed legislative briefings and a cocktail reception. NEW! Alex Azar, the secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will be giving a keynote briefing on the opioid crisis, cost of health care, vaping and other issues impacting Hoosier employers and their workers.
Another key presentation this trip is from a high-ranking trade official from the Embassy of Mexico. Gerardo Lameda, head of the Trade Office at Mexico’s Ministry of Economy, will speak about the North American trade deals – NAFTA and its successor, USMCA – and their impacts on the economy.
Bradley Williams, senior advisor in the Office of Nuclear Energy at the U.S. Department of Energy, and Anne Reinke, deputy assistant secretary for Intergovernmental Affairs at the U.S. Department of Transportation, are also confirmed speakers.
Officials from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services are also expected to provide updates. A look at where things stand with tax reform is on the agenda as well
