Each year at Centier Bank’s annual awards program, Celebration of Excellence, President and CEO Michael E. Schrage awards an associate with the bank’s Servant Heart Award for excellence in serving their community and its associates. This year, Zionsville Branch Manager Brad Duncan was the recipient of the esteemed honor.

“The Servant Heart Award is perhaps my favorite to give out each year as it embodies our value-based Servant Heart Culture,” said Schrage. “Brad’s leadership in the Zionsville and Greater Indianapolis communities is visible to many of our associates, and he’s been a tremendous brand ambassador for our culture in one of our newer markets.”
Over 900 Centier associates combined for over 20,000 hours of community service and volunteerism in 2018, impacted over 1,000 organizations and causes throughout the state. Duncan volunteered nearly 168 hours of his personal time throughout the year, serving on the Zionsville Chamber of Commerce, Boone County Chamber of Commerce, Zionsville Lions Club, Zionsville Junior Achievement through various Finance Committee and Board of Director Appointments.
The Servant Heart Award is selected by the bank’s Senior Management team, curated from submissions through Centier’s Peer Recognition Program. The criteria include finding examples of Servant Leadership within a community, including influencing people to enthusiastically work toward the common good with character that inspires confidence. There were over 650 submissions for the calendar year and Duncan’s community contributions were a common theme during the selection process.

To be considered one of the people who exemplifies this Servant Heart trait is a great honor,” explained Duncan. “I am so proud of all the work we do to benefit those around us and I hope to continue the legacy that the bank has started.”
