ANGOLA – A ribbon cutting, and public tours celebrated the opening of a new Bowen Health Clinic in Angola on March 7 at 11:30 am.
Co-located with Bowen Center’s outpatient office at 200 Hoosier Drive, the new clinic will continue the Center’s move towards integrating physical health care with mental health care and addiction recovery services for patients, no matter their ability to pay.
“Adding primary care allows patients to have a multidisciplinary care team, all under one roof, who are focused on their well-being,” said Alicia Johnson, Director of Bowen Health Clinic – Angola. “We are thrilled to expand our services and offer this level of healthcare for our patients.”
Understanding that the integrative healthcare model would improve and extend lives, Bowen Center began adding primary care services at its existing locations in 2020. By April 11, all Bowen Center locations will offer primary health care in addition to their mental health services.
“Improving and extending the lives of people by providing easily accessible and affordable quality healthcare for their body and mind strengthens our communities,” said Dr. Rob Ryan, Bowen Center president and CEO. “It’s also the right thing to do. Underserved populations have the most barriers to healthcare, so we are providing one place for them to come where they have access to a team that will ensure that they get the care they need.”
The addition of the Bowen Health Clinic will offer patients easy access to primary health care in addition to mental health care, behavioral health care, addiction recovery treatment, and life skills coaching services. This integrative or one-stop-shop approach to providing healthcare can make an immediate positive difference in the lives of Steuben County residents.
The public is welcome to attend the ribbon cutting and to tour the facility. There will also be light refreshments and giveaways.
